Portrait of Paula Scher
By teacher • Feb 17th, 2008 • Category: InspirationAwhile ago, Hillman Curtis created a series of film portraits for Adobe. Here is one on Paula Scher. They aren’t 10 second movies, but since self portraits are one of our project goals, it’s good to see how others have depicted personal stories.
Pay special attention to the beginning of the film. We never see her face. We just see her hands, the image she is sketching and her body movement in the chair as she talks over the images. So much information about this person is compressed into this little scene. You get much more about his person here than in any other section of the movie. Think about this when composing your own 10 second movies.
Hillman Curtis has several of these on his website. The film on Pentagram is also very good.
teacher knows that anyone can make 10 second movies.
