The New yorker has partnered with Ring Tales to produce this seies of 10 second animations based on their magazine cartoons.

In “The Five Obstructions,” Lars von Trier subjects his predecessor Jordan Leth to a series of five filmmaking trials, each based on the remaking of Leth’s 1967 short film “The Perfect Human.” The film contains a number of techniques and treatments that lend themselves well to 10 second movies.

CBS News has a new segment called “Fast Draw” where they attempt to explain complicated information using a “whiteboard animation” technique.

Awhile ago, Hillman Curtis created a series of film portraits for Adobe. They aren’t 10 second movies, but since self portraits are one of our project goals, it’s good to see how others have depicted personal stories.

These filmmakers were asked to pitch their films in 10 seconds. Notice how the guy with the shortest pitch used cultural references to help tell his story. “MTV’s The Real World in the Gaza Strip” says it all.
